Distance between place of activity and glass-metal seal less than 3mm is not advice to protect connection before damaging. Even the force of mounting should be less than 0,9N.
If bending is necessary, reed switch should be protected from transfer a stress to glass-metal point (draw no 1). If cutting is necessary, please do it very carefully and distance should be not less than 3 mm (draw no 2).
